“Awesome and Fantastic place to stay in Southern California!!!!!”

My son and I rode our Harley's to Southern California. My son insisted that we stay at the Tangerine Hotel. He has stayed there on three separate occasions. I was somewhat hesitant at first but took his advice. I will never doubt him again about picking a hotel!!!

The Tangerine Hotel is a diamond in the rough!!!From the time of arrival (stayed three nights) to time of departure, we were treated like gold!! The staff is exceptional!! From ALL the desk clerks to the outstanding housekeeping staff who even provided me with old towels to wipe off our Motorcycles. The rooms were spotless!! The pool was super clean and very enjoyable!! We met people from Israel, France and London who were also staying at the hotel. Great homey feeling and always feel welcome.

The TANGERINE HOTEL staff goes out of their way to make sure EVERYTHING is spot on!!! We stayed in room #125. Spotless and parked our motorcycles at the front door!!

This place is FANTASTIC and I will stay here every time I decide on a Southern California trip. We will always recommend this place to friends and family.

Don't bother staying anywhere else!!!

“Best Hotel in Burbank :-)”

This is my second trip to the Tangerine hotel and I am even happier with it this time. The office was undergoing renovation the last trip and had no kitchen amenities such as continental breakfast or hot water. They have a great selection of hot drinks from an industrial sized Keurig type machine. The rooms were clean and tasteful with nice comfortable beds and bedding. I especially loved the alarm clock that I could plug in my iPhone to charge it. The bathroom is a bit cramped but it serves its purpose. The pool area is quaint. The parking is sufficient, off street and FREE! This hotel also has complimentary WI-FI which is hard to come by. Great service!

Ask for a first floor room if you don't like to walk steps, otherwise all of the rooms are nice.

“Comfortable hotel close to movie studios”

Excellent staff & customer service. Close to movie studios and easy driving down town to Sunset Blvd. excellent pizza restaurant across the road & Big Bobs diner one block away.

Basic motel with an upbeat twist. funky wall art gives an edge above basic motel. Room was clean & comfortable with quality bathroom toiletries; they let us check in even though we were 2hrs early, friendly & very helpful reception.

“Great Stay”

This was a fantastic stay from beginning to end. I love not being bothered once checked in and helped if needed. The staff was very nice and polite; they definitely made me felt at home. The pastries for breakfast were average and the coffee machine was awesome! I think it would be nice to have a microwave in the room as well as a fridge. However, I was happy there was one in the lobby they also had plastic forks upon request. The pool was heated and was clean. Room service was also great when it was needed. The location is very convenient, an hour or so from the beach and Disney and pretty close to Universal, Hollywood, China town and Olivera St.

I would definitely recommend staying here! Ok two small downers, if you’re like me I like water pressure in the shower and there was very little, and on Friday night the parking was full but there was one right on the street so no biggie. We stay in room 129 which had a nice rock background on the wall and right next to the pool. Hope this helps make your choice final with the Tangerine!! ;)

“Nice modern boutique hotel”

Pleasantly surprised with the decor, comfort and cleanliness of our room. Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast pastries from local bakery were excellent (not the pre-packaged fare at some hotels). Imagine that the end rooms could be noisy right on the street, but ours was fine. Many restaurants nearby, close to Studios and a short drive into Hollywood.

“Wow! What a find!”

We were looking for a hotel for our final night in the US after a 5 week epic road trip. Everything near LAX Airport sounded horrid and as we had booked a studio tour at Warner we stumbled across this gem of a hotel. It's fantastic and as far as LA prices go, it's excellent value for money. Very clean, great decor and free fancy coffee in the lobby. There's also a choice of Danish pastries and croissants in the morning. Kamal, the manager, was very courteous and recommended a few places to dine out. Burbank is "old money" which means the neighborhood is safe (which can't be said for some other places in LA). And it's just a 5 min. walk away from the Warner studios! This means you don’t have to fork out 7 bucks for Warner’s parking lot. Would stay there again and can honestly recommend this place.

“Great place fair rate”

The Tangerine is a wonderful place to stay. Very well maintained and serviced -excellent location for the Burbank, North Hollywood, and Hollywood area. Not inexpensive but not overly priced either considering comparable alternatives in the area. They do a very good job and it's obvious they care.

“Very nice hotel with attentive friendly staff”

I can't say enough about how friendly and helpful all the front desk staff was at this delightful little "hotel" in Burbank/Toluca Lake. We spoke with four different front desk persons and they all were friendly and helpful. We stayed two nights and had an enjoyable time, though we were only there for showers and sleeping. It is not so much a place for hanging out - the pool is small and no restaurant or fitness center on premises, as much as it is a great place to sleep. At one time it was a motel, but the owners decided to upgrade and renovate and did a terrific job. The furnishings are modern. Our room was very clean. The bed was perfect - not too soft and not too hard - I guess that makes me the baby bear :). A very good place to stay. Walking distance to good restaurants and a five to ten minute drive or taxi to Universal Studios.

“Wow...this is a must stay hotel”

This place is one of the rare ones. The people that work there couldn't be nicer. It is small but so comfy and clean. (I've never seen a cleaner bathroom.) They helped us in many ways, and made our trip so much better. Walking distance to really good restaurants. Thx

"50's era gem"

What a great little hotel. All the charm of a 50's era motel updated for the 21st century. It has been upgraded very well. The beds are super comfy, the bathtub is very roomy, great TV with HBO, and free WiFi. Everything you could want in a very convenient location. The staff was super nice, and I was able to check in early. They gave great recommendations on local eating spots. I would definitely stay there again!

“Great service, staff, and room quality”

We stayed here to go to Universal Studios. Overall, I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars because of the noise level. Otherwise, the front and help staffs are VERY nice, delish pastry from Portos in the morning, happily allowed us to check in extra early, room is very clean, and overall convenient location to most places we went to. Will definitely stay here again next time we are in the area.

“Research pays off”

Staying at the Tangerine was a pleasant surprise. Recently took a 5 night trip to LA, the first 2 nights in a less than desirable hotel in Beverly Hills and the remaining 3 nights at Tangerine.

I did a lot of research before deciding on Tangerine and ultimately decided to stay there given its #1 hotel in Burbank spot on Tripadvisor. I was concerned about the parking situation as we had a rental car but parking never turned into an issue. There are only a handful (less than 5) spots in the very front; the remaining spots (maybe 10-15) were in the back. We always parked in the back because it was easier to get in/out. We were never out super late but I am assuming if you got back late, available spots might be sparse. Again, during our stay (Wed-Sat) we never experienced parking issues, and the hotel had no vacancy.

There is a nice counter next to the bathroom where you can get ready as someone else showers (would have been nice to have a sink there as well). The shower was really spacious and wide...I've never been in a hotel that had a wide shower like that. Water pressure/temp was also great. Also, there were a lot of shelves in the shower for you to put shampoo/conditioner/etc. I should mention that the toilet is right next to the shower. If you push the shower curtain away from the toilet it wasn't so bad. The faucet in the sink took a bit to get used to as it wasn't a full stream of water, more like a shower head with multiple streams of water (difficult to brush teeth/rinse toothbrush).

Room also had a mini fridge and coffee maker. Each morning there were complimentary pastries in the office as well as hot beverages.

Beds were comfortable but the one bed next to the door had the AC unit right next to it (practically touching the bed). This could result in some cold toes!

Oh, the website says that they offer Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries. Our room did not have this. Not a big deal but would have been nice.

Free wifi was also great and never went out.

Never got to use the pool as it wasn't very hot outside but it looked nice...and even got to 8' deep! No hot tub though.

Overall, I would recommend the Tangerine if you are in the LA area. It is super close to Jay Leno studio and WB Studios.

"Loved it!"

Absolutely loved the hotel. Everything from the location to the room decor to the toiletries! Beautiful rooms with comfy beds. Awesome Mexican place to eat right next door. Loved the coffee machine in the lobby. Will definitely be using this hotel again!!!!

"Perfect stay if visiting studios"

We stayed during the weekend of the Oscars. It was easy to get down to Hollywood or to Universal. We could have walked to the studio to watch the taping we were in town for. Staff was very nice. Mexican bar/restaurant next door was really fun. Great people!

"Awesome stay"

Love it!!!! Bvlgari toiletries...Porto pastries....gourmet coffee in room and the lobby...close to many attractions....Mexican restaurant next door has great drinks, chips and salsa. So worth it to stay here!!!!

"Great comfort for our 2 night Burbank stay"

I usually save hotel/motel reviews for Trip Advisor, but I'm on a roll lately, so the heck with it:

Needed a place to stay for our two nights left in the LA area, so from reading positive reviews on Trip Advisor, an ideal price, and excellent location, I booked Tangerine.

It's a boutique style motel that was recently redone.

Tangerine provided us with great comfort for our 2 night Burbank stay. Our room was styled with new IKEA type furniture that matched the Tangerine hotel look. Our bed was VERY comfortable. I usually tend to not sleep well when I'm away, however - our bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on.

Outside or next door room noise was also non-existent, which was a plus for providing a restful night of sleep.

We loved the fresh baked morning croissants and pastries from Porto's Bakery that were served in the lobby.

The hotel is also conveniently located to Bob Hope Airport. Walking distance to small restaurants/coffee shops. And very close to Universal, Disney, Warner Bros, The Getty, Griffith Observatory, etc.

The only small drawback is the carpeting. I'm not one for hotel carpeting, and replacing the carpeting with laminate wood flooring or bamboo would make this hotel really stand out.

"Picky?"

I’m soooooo picky!! I don’t give easy compliments, especially for hotels....that said, I REALLY LIKE THE TANGERINE!!!! Feels super clean, decor is very cool and the shower/tub was large and spotless! More important to me is that the bed covers were soft, comfy and obviously clean! Highly recommend it and will definitely stay here next time we do Universal Studios.

"The entire staff was wonderful"

Okay, my husband and I stayed at the Tangerine Hotel during June 2013 and I have to say, it was great!

We got into LA early morning (5am) and couldn't find any hotels in the area with vacant rooms...the Tangerine Hotel was our savior! We stayed for two nights in a single queen room for about $140 per night. At first, the price seemed steep but I did a quick search of other hotels in the area and we couldn't get anything below $230-250 a night. YIKES!

We ended up booking our room and went to get breakfast as the check-in time isn't until noon. We called around 8:00a and asked if we could get into our room earlier and to our surprise, our room was ready by 8:30am. We checked in early (no early check in fee was applied) and were surprised by the cleanliness and modern design of our room.

I have to say, I am quite the germaphobe so I was a bit nervous about staying at the Tangerine. Our room was clean, it smelled clean, no dust, no stains on the sheets or the chairs, and most importantly...no stains anywhere in the bathroom!!!! The bathroom was sparkling clean and beautifully stocked with clean towels, Givenchy soaps, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion (I used and loved!).

The bed was comfortable and soft, yet not too soft. We had an air conditioner in our room, which we used as it was quite warm all day in LA. Our room also contained a small fridge, an ironing board, hair dryer, a lock safe box, and an armoire. It was fully stocked with the things that we needed and we were very happy with the service.

Not sure of the gentleman (Kunal) who works during the day is the owner, but he was very nice and welcoming. In fact, the entire staff was wonderful.

I suppose the only negative element of my review would be the lack of parking. The parking lot is incredibly small and you may be required to park on the street if you are staying during a busy weekend.

"Orange you glad you stayed here?"

I love, love, love this hotel, and stay there as often as I can when visiting LA. You might drive by and think it's a "no-tell motel" drive-in, but you'd be very wrong. Very comfortable rooms - I sleep better in their beds than I do at home. Free wifi, free parking and... my favorite amenity...complimentary pastries from the wonderful Porto's bakery every morning, along with a cappuccino machine. The key, though, is the staff. Friendly, informed and eager to help… Heck, the day guy knows me by name now, and I'm only there every few months, at best! The Tangerine is all juice, no seeds, and has great a-peel!
