“Awesome little hotel!”

Stayed at the Tangerine for one night and it was a great place! Very clean and as others have commented the coffee machine and pastries were an awesome treat. Within walking distance to a variety of restaurants.

“Warner bros trip”

We stayed here for one night. We were going to the Ellen show and it was an easy walk to the show. Staff knew how to get you there. The restaurants surrounding the hotel were excellent and all within walking distance. I would stay here again.

The place was clean, rooms were great, beds very comfortable and pillows soft. Check in was easy fast and the staff were the most professional and yet very friendly at the same time.

“Great place!!!”

Kamal the general manager couldn't have been nicer!!!

"Courteous"

Stayed here based on the Yelp reviews I had read. This place is great. Love the individuality of the place, each room is decorated differently.  It is definitely not a chain hotel and I feel the experience is better. Front desk staff is courteous and helpful. Free coffee, espresso, cappuccino, tea, cocoa in lobby 24 hours. Continental pastries every morning from a local bakery were delicious! The room we had was excellent. Loved the decor and the bed was super comfy. Would definitely stay here again and will recommend them to my family and friends.

“Nice llace in Burbank”

We stayed for three days in the Tangerine Hotel. It's a smallish place, less than 50 rooms in the two-story building (no elevator). It's been recently renovated. Check-in was quick and easy. All the staff was friendly and courteous. We had two rooms next to each other on the second floor. The rooms were modern, clean and obviously recently updated. They do provide free Wi-Fi and parking and that's always appreciated. Additionally there's 24-hour coffee available in the lobby and a complimentary selection of sweet breads in the morning. Our king bed was very comfortable. The rooms were well furnished with a table, two chairs, flat screen TV, closet and coffeemaker. The bathroom had a single sink, adequate counter space (not always the case) and a tub/shower. There was a separate vanity/makeup area. It also contained an ironing board and iron. Parking in the front is limited, but there's additional parking available behind the hotel. The rooms are quiet and well insulated. The window air-conditioners were a little noisy, but worked well. The hotel is well situated and there are a number of restaurants within easy walking distance.

"Awesome little hotel close to Burbank's airport"

What a cute hotel this was. We stayed only one night and wished it could have been longer. This hotel was a great price, in a great, quiet location especially for us flying home out of Bob Hope Airport. It was very clean and nicely looked after. There is a great small pool area which we enjoyed right after check-in after a very hot afternoon of hiking in the Mountains above Malibu. The rooms are colourful and the entire property had an "old Hollywood" feel. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Parking is free. They offered wonderful free coffee (even flavoured lattes) and pastry options for breakfast. Toiletries were lovely; made by Bvlgari. Beds were also quite comfortable. Our conditioning worked wonderfully too. Well done Tangerine! We'll be back.

“Loved the Decor”

Tangerine Hotel was all that we needed, a base close to Universal Studios with easy access out of the city.

The hotel itself was clean, the room comfortable and the service excellent. Even after checking out, they he were happy to hold onto our luggage while we visited Universal Studios which is only a 10 minute drive away.

We wandered out for dinner and found Mo's place - excellent food in nice surroundings with live music at a reasonable price.

“Coming back”

I stayed here two nights and it was excellent. The front desk clerks were all very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay at this hotel again, whenever I get out to Burbank again. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The decor was bright and cheerful. This place was great.

“Awesome”

We only stayed here one night but it left an impression.

The front desk clerks (we dealt with 3 different ones) were all incredibly friendly and helpful and the coffee machine in the lobby was AWESOME.

We would definitely stay at this hotel again, whenever we get out to Burbank again.

“Everything we needed”

The hotel is slightly on the outskirts of LA in a nice quiet location. We felt perfectly safe walking about at night to the nice restaurants all within a few blocks. Complimentary coffee and pastries were a good start to the day and the small pool adequate to cool off in at the end of a long days sightseeing. Everything was here that we needed including air conditioning, fridge and coffee making facilities.

There was nothing that we did not like about this hotel. We would recommend to anyone visiting L A unless they are looking for bar and dining facilities on site which this hotel does not have…although there are bars and restaurants within a few metres.

“Great stay, up to date”

Staff was very helpful and polite. Even the cleaning staff was helpful which is rare to find. I.E., I was having trouble with my key working to my room. One of the girls on the cleaning staff volunteered to help me and even took the key back to the front desk, exchanged it for a new one, and then brought it back to me. An unnecessarily kind gesture that I truly appreciated. Rooms have an awesome decor and are up to date with a flat screen TV, USB charging ports and stereo. Shower room is also very clean. Warm clean pool. Breakfast is small but delicious, some muffins, donuts and whatever kind of coffee you desire. I will be staying there again on my next visit to LA.

“Fun, friendly and good location”

Chose this for our final 2 nights before flying back to UK, having read about it on tripadvisor. The front of desk staff (available 24 hours) were really friendly and helpful. Received a print out of detailed instructions for the next days desired sightseeing (to see the Hollywood sign, the Walk of Fame & to visit a shopping Mall) from the chap there on arrival (forgot to ask him his name) who also let me bring him my ID once unpacked, necessary to confirm the booking in my name. Also given directions to a restaurant that served good steak at our son's request! The room was clean and comfy with 2 queen beds & we had a wall depicting a large hot air balloon. It was not huge but perfectly adequate in size with all the toiletries, etc. that you would expect. The lobby has a machine for hot coffee and chocolate and teas (not black tea) & every morning there is a tray of pastries from Portos (a famous bakery, making delicious continental style croissants, Danish pastries, etc.) There is adequate free parking (a few spaces at the front and more behind) plus a small enclosed heated pool.

“Great Hotel”

Stayed here for 5 nights during a trip to LA. Rooms were excellent with a colourful modern design, good bathroom and very comfortable bed. Free car parking which is a bonus in LA, complimentary wifi and coffee and pastries in the morning. The pool looked good but we never used it. Burbank was a great area and there were loads of good places to eat very close to the hotel including the Mexican next door which was excellent. A great choice for a trip to LA.

“Modern interpretation of classic SO Cal motel”

This "hotel" started its life as an average looking motel. Someone with a very stylish eye renovated the rooms to include a flat screen TV, clock radio with iPod dock, and WiFi.

The small hotel office has a fancy coffee maker that produces everything from cappuccinos to lattes and cafe mochas. For breakfast, they offer complimentary pastries from a local Cuban bakery which are amazing !!

There are a number of casual restaurants within walking distance of Tangerine. I particularly liked Olive & Thyme (I had breakfast there one morning, and a light dinner with wine one night)

Tangerine is a great value.

“Our favourite hotel of our trip!”

Stayed here for 7 nights during our trip to LA. Hotel was great, nice modern décor, lovely and clean, great dressing table area, beds very comfy, and particularly liked the magnifying mirror for makeup, etc. The pool was lovely after a long hot day, and not overcrowded at all. Found the area very good and felt lovely and safe, with nice restaurants nearby. Juno at reception was always smiling and very helpful and the hot drink machine we loved, along with the pastries! We had also prior to arrival requested a 1st floor room as I had an injury after booking which required bringing a wheelchair, which they kindly were able to accommodate.

We loved the Tangerine and would definitely recommend it, and hopefully return again one day.

“Good value, great location, nice hotel room”

I chose this hotel because of the location (excellent, 10 min drive to Universal studios), and the nightly rate (better than the nearby chain hotel). The interior of the hotel room is upbeat, indeed retro chic, with well-placed shelves and cabinets for our stuff. Pastries from Porto's are fresh. If they could add fresh bananas or apples, that would be a nice complement... Juno at front desk was very helpful. Lots of restaurants nearby... Front parking is tight, but there are available spaces at the back and in the surrounding streets per my driver/husband.

Overall - agree with its rating: number 1.

“Love this hotel”

My husband and I went to CA for our vacation, and loved this hotel. Amazing rate (the chain hotel close to us was $30 more a night), amazing service, great breakfast pastries, and quirky room decor. Worth your money and time. We will definitely stay here again.

“Great hotel – Great location & service”

We have arrived early and the room was ready. Service was way beyond other famous networks. Room was clean and beautiful. Coffee and other hot and cold drinks are complementary 24 hr. which is great. Will definitely return when in the area.

If you like old cars then come on Fridays to enjoy the old cars gathering at a nearby restaurant which was amazing.

“Wonderful place”

We stayed two nights in July 2014. We were able to park close to our unit. The beds were comfortable and large, the bathroom well set up. The decorated wall took the unit above the ordinary and after staying in huge multi-story hotels for a week it was great to able to open the door and step outside.

The staff couldn't have been more helpful and we had lots of questions from the nearest Post Office, to parking at Universal Studios to the more usual dinner recommendations. We loved the morning pastries and it was the best cup of tea I'd had while travelling.

“Awesome and Fantastic place to stay in Southern California!!!!!”

My son and I rode our Harley's to Southern California. My son insisted that we stay at the Tangerine Hotel. He has stayed there on three separate occasions. I was somewhat hesitant at first but took his advice. I will never doubt him again about picking a hotel!!!

The Tangerine Hotel is a diamond in the rough!!!From the time of arrival (stayed three nights) to time of departure, we were treated like gold! The staff is exceptional! From ALL the desk clerks to the outstanding housekeeping staff who even provided me with old towels to wipe off our Motorcycles. The rooms were spotless! The pool was super clean and very enjoyable! We met people from Israel, France and London who were also staying at the hotel. Great homey feeling and always feel welcome.

The TANGERINE HOTEL staff goes out of their way to make sure EVERYTHING is spot on!!! We stayed in room #125. Spotless and parked our motorcycles at the front door!

This place is FANTASTIC and I will stay here every time I decide on a Southern California trip. We will always recommend this place to friends and family.

Don't bother staying anywhere else!!!

“Best Hotel in Burbank :-)”

This is my second trip to the Tangerine hotel and I am even happier with it this time. The office was undergoing renovation the last trip and had no kitchen amenities such as continental breakfast or hot water. They have a great selection of hot drinks from an industrial sized Keurig type machine. The rooms were clean and tasteful with nice comfortable beds and bedding. I especially loved the alarm clock that I could plug in my iPhone to charge it. The bathroom is a bit cramped but it serves its purpose. The pool area is quaint. The parking is sufficient, off street and FREE! This hotel also has complimentary WI-FI which is hard to come by. Great service!

Ask for a first floor room if you don't like to walk steps, otherwise all of the rooms are nice.

“Comfortable hotel close to movie studios”

Excellent staff & customer service. Close to movie studios and easy driving down town to Sunset Blvd. excellent pizza restaurant across the road & Big Bobs diner one block away.

Basic motel with an upbeat twist. Funky wall art gives an edge above basic motel. Room was clean & comfortable with quality bathroom toiletries; they let us check in even though we were 2hrs early, friendly & very helpful reception.

“Fantastic”

This was a fantastic stay from beginning to end. I love not being bothered once checked in and helped if needed. The staff was very nice and polite; they definitely made me felt at home. The pastries for breakfast were good and the coffee machine was awesome! I think it would be nice to have a microwave in the room as well as a fridge. However, I was happy there was one in the lobby they also had plastic forks upon request. The pool was heated and was clean. Room service was also great when it was needed. The location is very convenient, an hour or so from the beach and Disney and pretty close to Universal, Hollywood, China town and Olivera St.

I would definitely recommend staying here! Friday night the parking was full but there was one right on the street so no biggie. We stay in room 129 which had a nice rock background on the wall and right next to the pool. Hope this helps make your choice final with the Tangerine!! ;)

“Nice modern boutique hotel”

Pleasantly surprised with the decor, comfort and cleanliness of our room. Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast pastries from local bakery were excellent (not the pre-packaged fare at some hotels). Many restaurants nearby, close to Studios and a short drive into Hollywood.

“Wow! What a find!”

We were looking for a hotel for our final night in the US after a 5 week epic road trip. Everything near LAX Airport sounded horrid and as we had booked a studio tour at Warner we stumbled across this gem of a hotel. It's fantastic and as far as LA prices go, it's excellent value for money. Very clean, great decor and free fancy coffee in the lobby. There's also a choice of Danish pastries and croissants in the morning. Kamal, the manager, was very courteous and recommended a few places to dine out. Burbank is "old money" which means the neighborhood is safe (which can't be said for some other places in LA). And it's just a 5 min. walk away from the Warner studios! This means you don’t have to fork out 7 bucks for Warner’s parking lot. Would stay there again and can honestly recommend this place.

“Great place fair rate”

The Tangerine is a wonderful place to stay. Very well maintained and serviced -excellent location for the Burbank, North Hollywood, and Hollywood area. Not inexpensive but not overly priced either considering comparable alternatives in the area.

They do a very good job and it's obvious they care.

“Very nice hotel with attentive friendly staff”

I can't say enough about how friendly and helpful all the front desk staff was at this delightful little "hotel" in Burbank/Toluca Lake. We spoke with four different front desk persons and they all were friendly and helpful. We stayed two nights and had an enjoyable time, though we were only there for showers and sleeping. It is not so much a place for hanging out - the pool is small and no restaurant or fitness center on premises, as much as it is a great place to sleep. At one time it was a motel, but the owners decided to upgrade and renovate and did a terrific job. The furnishings are modern. Our room was very clean. The bed was perfect - not too soft and not too hard - I guess that makes me the baby bear :). A very good place to stay. Walking distance to good restaurants and a five to ten minute drive or taxi to Universal Studios.

“Wow...this is a must stay hotel”

This place is one of the rare ones. The people that work there couldn't be nicer. It is small but so comfy and clean. (I've never seen a cleaner bathroom.) They helped us in many ways, and made our trip so much better. Walking distance to really good restaurants. Thx

“Research pays off”

Staying at the Tangerine was a pleasant surprise. Recently took a 5 night trip to LA, the first 2 nights in a less than desirable hotel in Beverly Hills and the remaining 3 nights at Tangerine.

I did a lot of research before deciding on Tangerine and ultimately decided to stay there given its #1 hotel in Burbank spot on Tripadvisor. I was concerned about the parking situation as we had a rental car but parking never turned into an issue. There are only a handful (less than 5) spots in the very front; the remaining spots (maybe 10-15) were in the back. We always parked in the back because it was easier to get in/out. We were never out super late but I am assuming if you got back late, available spots might be sparse. Again, during our stay (Wed-Sat) we never experienced parking issues, and the hotel had no vacancy.
